PROFILE

Pakistani visual artist, photographer, researcher, and interdisciplinary practitioner based between Lahore and Dubai, with more than twenty-five years of practice rooted in observation, environmental inquiry, memory, and place.

Working primarily through photography, Chaudhry extends image-making into digital practice, painting, immersive experiences, mixed media, installation, public art, art direction, and visual research. 

His wider practice includes TreeLine environmental initiatives, space design, interior and exterior environments, site planning and landscape design, alongside photography, cultural projects, and community-based practice. His work is informed by continuous travel, walking, field observation, and an evolving archive of more than 300,000 photographs. 

Founder of Carbon Roadside Arts (CRSA), he has developed long-term projects connecting art, photography, education, environmental awareness, cultural heritage, design, and public participation across Pakistan.
 

AWARDS

  • 2026Niggah Award for Creative Photography.

  • 2024 – Awarded the UAE Golden Residency Visa in recognition of distinguished artistic excellence and contribution to the visual arts.

  • 2019 – Excellence Award for campaign and title design for Shehroze Kashif ("The Broad Boy"), five-time Guinness World Record-holding mountaineer.

  • 2018 – Won three awards in the Your Choice category by National Geographic Magazine Pakistan for Street Photography and Creative Photography.

  • 2017 – Excellence Award for event branding and campaign design for the Pakistan Mount Everest Summit.

  • 2017, 2018 & 2021 – Awards for campaign design from CRC – Cross Route Club Pakistan for the Khunjerab-to-Ziarat United Nations Commemorative Day expedition.

  • 2015–2020 – Multiple Shields of Honor for excellence in brand development and campaign design from Falcon Club Pakistan.

  • 2015 – Honorary Award from Message Welfare Trust for visual excellence in the Street Art Competition.

  • 2012 – Winner, Pakistan's First Photojournalism Awards, Independent Photographer Category.

  • 2012 – Nominated for the National Geographic Hong Kong Photography Awards.

  • 1999 – Student of the Year Award, Aslam Minhas Fine Arts Society, Government College University, Lahore.

  • 1997–1998 – Awards for Annual Fine Arts Exhibitions, Government College University, Lahore.

  • 1997 – Winner, All Pakistan Poster Competition, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Pakistan.

  • 2024 – Recognized as one of Pakistan's most-viewed photographers through the CARBON platform, maintaining a leading public presence for more than a decade.

  • 2016–PresentCarbon Roadside Arts (CRSA) has received extensive coverage by national and international media, including Voice of America (VOA), Geo News, Dawn, The News, The Nation, Star Asia, Channel 24, and 24 News, highlighting its contribution to art education and community engagement.

  • 2016 – The collaborative photography exhibition "Roshni Tu Tum Bhi Ho" received media coverage from BBC Urdu, Dawn, The News, Express Tribune, Neo News, and Samaa TV.

  • 2011–2013 – Received multiple Letters of Appreciation from the Alpine Club of Pakistan and Adventure Academy for contributions to the International Mountain Day (IMD) Margalla Hills Clean-up Campaign.

  • 2009–2011 – Creator of eP (explorePakistan), a visual initiative featured repeatedly on Pakistan Television (PTV).

  • 2000–2005 – Earned numerous certificates recognizing excellence in Theatre Art Direction, Set Design, and Performance from the National College of Arts (NCA), GIKI, Kinnaird College, and Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop.

  • 1999 – Co-founder and President of the Government College University Fine Arts Society (1997–1999).

  • 1999 – Received the Artist Student of the Year distinction at Government College University and a Letter of Appreciation from the Rotary Club of Pakistan.

  • 1998 – First Prize, Earth Protection Society (EPS) Recycling Competition, Kinnaird College.

  • 1998 – Received a Letter of Recognition from U.S. President Bill Clinton, presented through the American Center, Lahore, for participation in Earth Day activities.

  • Over the years, received numerous Certificates of Appreciation and Letters of Recognition from provincial government departments, educational institutions, NGOs, and cultural organizations for sustained contributions through Carbon Roadside Arts (CRSA) and community-based arts initiatives
